On-Demand Webinar Innovative CE Solutions for Size and Charge with ProteinSimple

Part 1
A Global Intercompany Precision and Robustness Validation of icIEF methodology for the Analysis of a mAb and a Fusion Protein
Speaker: Seth Madren, Ph.D., Scientist II, Analytical Development, Biogen

The first part of the webinar will focus on a global study with 21 sites including pharmaceutical and IVD companies, along with a regulatory agency that compared the precision and robustness of an imaged cIEF method for the analysis of the NIST mAb and a fusion protein on the iCE3 and the Maurice instruments. This information has been widely requested to help companies better understand how to evaluate the instruments with these key parameters and transition to the newer technology.

Attendees will learn about:
  • How the iCE3 and Maurice compare relative to precision and robustness for a mAb and a fusion protein.

Part 2
Simplifying your Gene Therapy Analytics
Speaker: Chris Heger, Ph.D., Director of Applications Science, Analytical Solutions Division, ProteinSimple a Bio-Techne brand

R&D requirements for gene therapy candidates are similar to those in other biotherapeutics. To make informed and accurate decisions, one requires reliable analytical instrumentation to fully characterize these complex molecules. Speed, accuracy, and flexibility are needed to support both characterization and release requirements. In the second part of the webinar we will discuss various capillary electrophoresis techniques that can be easily implemented along the development path to support cell and gene therapy product development.

Attendees will learn about:
  • How Simple Western size and charge assays can support early stage gene therapy R&D
  • How Maurice charge and size assays are being used downstream to support various aspects of viral drug development.

Speakers

Dr.
 Seth Madren

Seth Madren, Ph. D.
Scientist II, Analytical Development
Biogen

Seth Madren, a Scientist II in the Analytical Development group at Biogen, received his doctoral degree in Analytical Chemistry from Indiana University at Bloomington where he focused on the fabrication and use of microfluidic devices. After graduate school, Seth joined Biogen, where he has worked for 8 years. While at Biogen he focused on the development of novel methods to characterize monoclonal antibodies with a wide range of analytical techniques. Seth has been responsible for method development, troubleshooting and the evaluation of novel analytical platforms. Seth is an expert in a wide range of electrophoretic and chromatography based separations.
Dr.
 Chris Heger

Chris Heger, Ph. D.
Director, Applications Science
Analytical Solutions Division
ProteinSimple, a Bio-Techne brand

Chris Heger, Director of Applications Science for the Analytical Solutions Division of Bio-Techne, received his doctoral degree in Pharmacology from Cornell University and completed his post-doctoral training at the National Cancer Institute in Antibody Development, Purification and Technology Evaluation. Chris then joined ProteinSimple, a Bio-Techne Brand, where he has worked for nearly 10 years. Starting as a Field Applications Scientist, and subsequently further building the East Coast support team as Field Manager, Chris developed broad but deep understanding of the instrumentation and their application across diverse research areas. Chris moved to California to lead the Applications Science group, chartered with creating scientific collateral, fostering collaborations, training, and application development. Chris is an expert in immunoassays, capillary electrophoresis, protein and antibody purification, and chromatography.
