Live Webinar:
Use of automated immunoblotting for characterization of SARS-CoV-2 antibody responses in COVID-19 patients

Postponed - Date TBD @

In this seminar Dr. Castillo-Olivares and Dr. Matteo Ferrari will present the data they have generated using the ProteinSimple Jess technology to characterize the antibody responses of SARS-CoV-2 infected individuals. The results show IgG, IgA and IgM reactivities of sera from patients against the main SAR-CoV-2 antigens (N, whole Spike and their sub-units S1, S2 and RBD). They will discuss these results in the context of other serological data obtained with other assays.

Dr. Javier Castillo-Olivares
DVM, MSc, PhD, MRCVS
Univ. of Cambridge

Dr. Javier Castillo-Olivares is a viral vaccinologist with more than 28 years’ experience in developing vaccines, bio-assays and diagnostics for veterinary and human viral diseases, including amongst others, West Nile fever, influenza and African horse sickness. After spending 23 years in the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket and the Pirbright Institute, where he developed a strong interest for zoonotic diseases, he joined the Laboratory of Viral Zoonotics at the University of Cambridge and worked on assessing the regulatory pathways for Ebola vaccine licensing, before he embarked on the HICC (humoral Immune Correlates for COVID-19) project, which focuses on the identification of serological bio-markers that define severe COVID-19.
